Basics for Health hosts its first public event!

Tonight at The HiVE in downtown Vancouver, Basics for Health is hosting a volunteer appreciation event and public panel to coincide with our first Annual General Meeting as a society.

The topic for tonight's panel is "Social Determinants and the Health Care System: Who Is Responsible?" Our distinguished panelists are Roberta Price, a Coast Salish elder; Trish Garner of the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition; Dr. Rita McCracken, a family physician, Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC, and Associate Head of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Providence Health Care; and Dr. John Millar, Clinical Professor Emeritus at the UBC School of Public and Population Health, Vice President of the BC Public Health Association, and former BC Provincial Health Officer.

We are thrilled to be hosting this event to thank our incredible volunteers and supporters and to engage in a critical discussion about the health care system!

The event runs from 6:00 - 8:00pm at The HiVE, 210-128 West Hastings Street.
